Ok, the government pension is my right. It's not something that I am claiming. It's a pension that I have paid in for all my life. It's a set
amount that I am entitled to. Even if I'm continuing to work, I am still entitled to my pension. No if, but, or maybe. It's my money. So please
tell me how the heck it can be stopped being paid to me.
On Monday the 8th of June I checked my bank account only to find that my pension had not been paid in. No worries it would surely be there the next day. Even though that Monday was not a bank holiday so the money should have gone in on time.
On checking again on the Tuesday, and I might add on the Wednesday, still no pension. So on the blower I got and asked why. No one knew why it hadn't been paid, but I was assured that it would be in my bank within 3 days.
The following Monday I checked again, and bugger me if not only the previous Monday's money wasn't there but also no sign of that Monday (15th) either. So back on the dog and bone and was given the same spiel that both weeks would be with me in 3 days. Still no sign of any money up to last night 21st.
Now today, Monday the 22nd, baring in mind that I am now due 3 weeks up to and including today, I checked my bank account to find that 2 weeks have been paid in. This means that someone did sort it out my money from my phone call of last Monday, but only sorted out the 2 weeks I was questioning up to that point. It means that they still haven't got the regular payments sorted.
I am now going to have to ring them again, spending my time and money trying to get this weeks payment sorted.
I am sure that if their wages weren't paid on time the DWP would be out on strike in a flash.

They assured me that I am now back in the system. What I wanted to know was how I was removed from the system. Obviously no one there was going to admit to knowing why though.
It shall ever remain a mystery.

It's the whole attitude of them assuming one has the time to wait for them to get it right as ones banks account is getting lower.
There are some old people out there that have no extra money and no one to borrow from. Many others that had gone without a pension being paid for 3 weeks would now be bloody starving. What they should have done from the first week I phoned them was send the cash in a giro for me to get the following day. Rather than keep saying it will be in the bank in 3 days and it never turning up.
It's bloody disgraceful. They didn't know I have money saved to draw on. As far as they were concerned my pension was all I get.
I keep that one bank account purely for my pension. That is all I use it for and over that time I went £35 in debit in that account. Now if anyone else had done that they would now have bank charges. I knew I was ok because I have an overdraft on that particular account so knew I didn't have to start moving money into it whilst waiting for them to fix their balls up.
I am only 60 and still have my head screwed on, but what about those poor sods that are really old, with no one around to help. Think of the panic and mess they would have been in.
How many more people are the DWPs screwing up.

As for me being patient Portia, the only reason this was because I am one of the lucky pensioners that don't have to rely on the pension being paid in dead on time. Having said that. I didn't let them know that I didn't need the money urgently. As far as they were concerned I was in desperate need for the cash.
My last phone call to them was demanding to speak to a superviser/manager until they assured me that the last weeks money owing would be paid in just a day late.
I have to say that I haven't actually checked that last money went in last Tuesday as promised. Perhaps I will now wait until Monday to check both last Monday's and this coming Monday's monies are in the bank.

We wondered if they got my insurance number muddled up with someone who has perhaps died, and put a stop on it. and it wasn't until I rang "several times" they chased up their mistake. I can see absolutely no other reason that a stop would be put on a pension.

Banks scream poor yet when the end of financial stuff comes out they still have millions in profit.
The refugees get more money from the government here then the people who worked hard for many years.
Everything is going up and up in price so I suppose we all need to learn to cook cardboard soon.....grrrrr

Look at the price of fuel. They are now saying, quite sensibly, that no one should have to pay out more than 10% of their earnings on house hold fuel. Yet not once has it been suggested that those that have a steak in the fuel companies ever take a drop in their yearly profits payout.
It sickens me to know that so many people in this country are getting such high saleries when most of their working day is spent on lunch breaks instead of working. It's the greed of companies that have created the doll queue. They now force people to do the work of 2 people or install automatic systems simply to make more profits rather than employing a larger work force.
Where once there was a receptionist/telephonist there is now automation. Where once there was customer service there is now foreign call centres. Where once one could go into a high street cafe and sit down at a clean table, we now have to clean our own tables because there aren't enough staff. I could go on but we all know how the companies have cut corners with the work force for more and more profit.
Oh and getting back to household fuel. Did you know there is only one company in England that is actually owned by an English company. All the rest are owned by foreign countries. So our money paid out on fuel isn't even staying in this country.
