This week has been an eventful one for me. Last Sunday I moved into my new flat. Saturday was Halloween and this Sunday was my 61st Birthday.
The actual move went really smoothly, but then it would as I had no furniture to move. Having moved out of a caravan where all fixtures and fittings came with it, I had to buy all new furniture for the new flat. All was in situ in the flat ready for the move on Sunday, that is all except the suite which is another story, so it was only a matter of moving the last few boxes in from caravan to flat.
The flat is sooooo very tiny that I had thrown away a lot of bits I had collected but never used for a long time. I say threw away but in actual fact they all went down to the Samaritans shop. I thought I had thrown away everything I could throw away but unfortunately on unpacking at the flat I had to sort out yet another big bag of throw aways.
Although everything now has a corner, it's a very crowded corner so I will have to put up maybe a wall cupboard or two in the bedroom and possibly some shelving somewhere. You wouldn't believe that a caravan could hold more than a flat but hey ho.
At the moment I am having to use a couple of summer fold down chairs to lounge in as the company I bought my suite from informs me that the suite wont arrive in the country until 18th November. Now that doesn't mean it will get to me on the 18th, it simply means it will dock. What joy. Never mind, at least it will be here by Christmas.
I am slowly getting to know all my neighbours and all that I have met are very nice and very friendly, but not pushy, which is nice.
This Saturday it was back to my Sarah's for the weekend to celebrate Halloween and my Birthday with the family.
Halloween was great fun as all dressed up including the adults and we all went out with the kids trick or treating. I am afraid to say that my costume looked so genuine that it made a few kids we passed jump. Even one woman did a little scream as she passed by me where I was standing under the lamp waiting for the girls to collect sweets from a nearby house. I was the Wicked Witch of the East and I have to say I was very pleased with my costume. Photos to come later.
Sarah and Mark were Zombie police that had been beaten up and run over. Tire marks, ripped clothes and blood.
Aimee made a wonderful vampire although a rather sexy one as well, and our Jess also was a Zombie but from "Fame", where her little friend came as The Phantom of the Opera. They all looked lovely.
My Birthday on the Sunday was spent at Sarah's with a little trip to Beverleys to help her clear up the Halloween mess we had all made the night before. We do all seem to generate to Beverley's on our family occasions. Sarah's made a lovely Birthday dinner for me, after which we all sat down and watched "Girlfriends Passed" which I had been given by Aimee as a Birthday pressie.
All in all it has been a great week.

It sounds like you are having quite a busy time at the moment , though very exciting. I love the fact that you are going to have a trimphone as well by your bed.
A belated Very Happy Birthday to you as well.
Also thanks for the advice about son's girlfriend, I think alot of it stems from her being in foster care. I sometimes think that she believes the world owes her!

I had a phone call today to say my suite is arriving on the 24th which isn't too much longer to wait, so will then have comfy chairs to sit in. Also I have now decided to add a wall cupboard to the bedroom which will take a lot of the little bits and pieces one has running around that room. And I still have to put up a bathroom cabinet yet. I will make that a large one then it can also hold all medications as well as makeup and such.
After all that I should then be comfortable for storage space.
